Every site we build has an individual workflow that governs how articles are displayed. So these are just things to try, there maybe something unique to your site that's making it not show, so if the below doesn't help, give us a call it's likely a quick fix.
The most common is the entry has been set to appear on the site at some point in the future. Just check in the Date tab within the entry, and make sure the Entry Date and Time is not specified in the future. Easiest way to fix this is to click the Today link below the Entry Date area, it will set it to the current date and time.
The same is true for the Expiration Date. If an expiration date is specified for an article, once that date has passed, the article will in most cases no longer appear on the site. You can either remove the expiration date altogether if you don't want it to expire, or set a new expiry date that's in the future.
Commonly what happens here is there is an old entry on the site that's expired, you then decide to reuse this entry perhaps changing the content and title, not realising that it had an expiry date. This can either cause the entry to not show when you save it, or expire at some point in the future without you intending it to.
We strongly recommend never reopening a closed or unused entry for this purpose, always post a new one then you should never get caught up by this issue.
By default all entries within your site have the option to have the status set to Open or Closed. Setting it to closed will prevent it from showing in your site. Check that it's not been set to closed and if so just change it to Open.
Note that Open and Closed are the default options, but depending on the section in your site we may have built it with other statuses that have a similar effect. For example you may have Featured to show the entry at the top of the list, or on the homepage, or Archived to show it in a different area of your site. In nearly all cases Closed really does mean closed. If your unsure what the statues mean give us a call so we an run through these with you.
Some entries require that you assign them to a category before they will show up. Just check the categories and see if there are any there that are relavent to your entry and update as necessary.
Note that not all entires will use categories, and generally if they don't we will have disabled the Categories, so if you don't see them don't be alarmed, it's probably not that you can't find them, just that we disabled them.
It's easy to think that you have completed the entry and posted it to your site without realising there were fields that are required before posting. Just have a quick check to ensure everything that's required is filled out.
